MAC Launches Exclusive Collection for Olive Skin Tones

MAC has teamed up with makeup artist Mickey Contractor to launch a limited edition line of cosmetics. Contractor, who has over 30 years’ experience as a makeup artist for many of Bollywood’s biggest stars, used his experience to create an exclusive collection of foundations and concealers for Indian and other olive-colored skin tones.

Contractor explained that he wanted to create a cosmetics collection to help women with skin pigmentation and discoloration problems:
“Outside of India, they’ll also work beautifully on Hispanic, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern skins, which can also have similar issues with pigmentation.”

The full range of products will include everything from lipsticks and blushes to eyeshadow pots and palettes. In addition to neutral shades, the collection will also incorporate lots of teal, green, fuchsia and plum-colored hues.

The MAC and Mickey Contractor Collection will launch on January 6th in stores and online. Prices in the collection range from $14.50 to $36.

Hottest Nail Polish Trends for Winter 2010/2011

What better way to brighten up cold, dreary winter days than with a great nail polish color?

Below, I’ve listed the top four hottest nail polish trends for winter 2010/2011 to give you some inspiration for new shades to try!

1. Glittery Metallic

(from left to right) OPI “Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous!”, Butter London “Full Monty”, China Glaze “Jingle Bells”
How can you not be completely taken with these gorgeous, glittery tones? Metallics have been spotted everywhere in fashion this winter season, but right now, it’s all about wearing these hues on your nails.

2. Greige/Mushroom/Taupe

(from left to right) Rimmel London “Steel Grey”, China Glaze “Recycle”, Deborah Lippmann “Waking Up In Vegas”
This is probably my favorite of all the nail trends this season. The “greige” (a mixture of gray and beige) nail polish trend began this past summer, continued into the fall, and is still super popular this winter. This trend just won’t die, and for that, polish addicts are eternally grateful.

3. Super Dark, Almost Black

(from left to right) OPI “We’ll Always Have Paris”, Essie “Over The Top”, elf Cosmetics “Dark Navy”
Okay, we know that dark nails are nothing new for the chillier months of the year, but what’s different this year is that those dark colors are super dark, and crazily close to black. The most-worn ones seem to be deep plum, dark graphite, and rich navy.

4. Icy Blues

(from left to right) Rescue Beauty Lounge “Catherine H”, Chanel “Riva”, Barielle Shades “Snow Day”
This is probably the most unexpected trend for this winter season, but it’s surprisingly awesome. While blue may not be the most popular nail color on the market, this season it’s making a strong comeback.

What do you think about these winter 2011 nail trends? Are you guys wearing any of them yet? Are there any other nail trends this season that you’re loving or hating?Let me know in the comments!

New fashion and jewelry designers are being born everyday in Cairo. One of which is the talented Marilise El Sisi. A friend sent me an invite to her page on Facebook, and I immediately fell in love with her jewelry designs. She mixes gold and gold plated silver with stones and what you get is amazing pieces of art. You can check out her page on Facebook, by Lisa
Here are some of my favorites:

Shoes Shoes!

Marilyn Monroe once said, "Give a girl the right pair of shoes and she can conquer the world"
I truly believe that wearing the right pair of shoes can make everything go right :) They can dress up or dress down any outfit.

Hello everyone! :)

Hi everyone!

Well, Since this is my first blog post, I want to tell you a bit more about why I wanted to start a Fashion & Style Blog.

I've always had a passion for fashion, and it's a lot more than just loving shopping. Fashion is a lot more! It's about trends, colors, fabrics. Not just buying shoes and bags.

And no matter what's in, just know that personal style is the hottest trend you can wear. Remember that what you wear says so much about you, so it’s important to put your signature style in everything you wear.
You shouldn’t wear everything in trend, because some things will suit you, while others things might look plain ugly. It’s all about wearing what suits you!

Fashion isn’t just what you see on runways. Walking down the street is like walking down a runway where everyone is a model.
