You're not a sketch

From viral videos and imagery to the creative use of Photoshop, advertisers are getting really creative. Brazilian modeling agency Star Models has recently released an eating disorder awareness campaign featuring your typical fashion sketch on the left, and models photoshopped to look like a human version of the same on the right. You might have noticed how disturbing it is. 
If you're familiar with fashion illustration, you know this sort of impossibly long-legged, waify figure is absolutely standard practice for almost all designers. It's an art, and we personally appreciate it as a beautiful step in the design process. But has it gone too far? These ads do make you wonder: At what point do designers have a responsibility, as artists and also as creators of consumer products, to help foster a more body-positive society?

If you like the Facebook page, you'd know that I got home the other day to a lovely gift from MUUSE.

Based in Copenhagen, MUUSE collaborates with designers to give you well-cafted original pieces. They make sure that you get high-quality pieces.

I got two lovely silk tops. I decided to wear this silk blouse by Hellen Van Rees today (found here). I paired it with snakeprint jeans from H&M, and my Dr Martens (which are too comfy I'm wearing them most of the time now). The blouse is made of really soft silk, and it's in a really nice print. 

I can't wait to show you the other top I got :)

Adam Elwan Jewelry Design

Young designer Adam Elwan has designed a collecion that is nothing but fresh, clean-lined, beautiful pieces of art. He uses sterling silver or 18oct gold and precious and semi-precious stones and wood.

Tucked away in Maadi, his shop Adam Elwan Bespoke Jewelry Designs has a variety of beautiful and affordable pieces.

Elwan's jewelry stands out with his use of materials and experimenting with different colors. Adam is also happy to customize pieces and create unique pieces on request.

My Favorite Color is Sparkles

If you're like the page on Facebook, or following on Twitter, you'd know how much I enjoy wearing these hair bows. 

A few weeks ago, I got a package in the mail from the beautiful Anna of Anna Sparkles. She makes the  prettiest hair bows, hair bands, and studded bracelets. Perfect for pretty much every occasion and they look amazing with short or long hair. 

The girls at the office were in love with them that they insisted they take pictures wearing them haha
