New in: Desiree

A girl can never have enough shoes - especially ones in neutral colors. I just got these pair of Sam Edelman Desiree pumps in nude, and I absolutely love them. It was quite an impulse purchase that I don't regret at all.

They go with almost everything - whether it's your favorite pair of jeans or that nice dress hanging in your closet. My tip is to go half a size smaller than your usual size though. I usually wear a size 7 US/ 37 EU and I notice that these run a bit big. 

Chanel’s ‘Supersonic’ Haute Couture

Karl Lagerfeld showcased his showcase his athletic-inspired spring 2014 collection yesterday. He focused his efforts around the waist, bringing back the hourglass silhouette by putting tight corsets front and center. These were often topped with cropped jackets adorned with crystal buttons, and paired with either straight or flared knee-length skirts in light purple, pink or striped tweeds.

But the most important message here were the sneakers worn with every single outfit. These clothes took on a certain street credibility when paired with the pink, white or black trainers, which were handmade by Massaro, another atelier owned by Chanel. Each pair — whether python or tweed or bejeweled, all veiled in lace — took a minimum of 30 hours of to make.

Madewell's Spring 2014 Lookbook

Madewell has released its Spring 2014 lookbook, and as the new head designer Somsack Sikhounmuong promised, it delivers everyday staples, largely in denim, flannel and cotton, with “almost a tomboy sense of ease.”

The lookbook underlines Madewell’s move away from J.Crew’s trendier silhouettes and bright colors to a more casual, subdued weekender look. The collection looks ideal for off-days and beach wear, but outside of a white blazer, the blouses, one red jacket and the accessories, few of the looks are suitable for work.
