A desert-island question: if you could choose just six pairs
of heels, which would they be? The answer may lie in a new collaboration, sold
on Net-a-porter.com from September, between Olivia Palermo and Aquazuura’s
Edgardo Osorio.
The friends dreamt up the idea of a “survival pack” of key
styles together in New York last year.
Drawing from the archives of Aquazurra’s Florence atelier,
as well as the treasure trove of Palermo’s NYC wardrobe, they have
cross-pollinated their references to create the winning looks. A Victorian
paste necklace of Palerno’s manifests as the ankle embellishment on delicately bejeweled
sandals; while Aquazzura’s signature “cashmere leather” formed the basis of an
ankle boot.
Palerno’s favorite piece? “The thigh-high boots – these will
be my go-to in winter. They fit like a glove, and the python heel gives them a
bit of unexpected edge, which I love.”
